NOT being rehomed through the rescue and NOT assessed
NOT SUITABLE TO REHOME WITH CHILDREN - adult home only
Name: Poppy
Breed: Romanian Rescue ( Jack x chi )
Age: 6 years old
Sex: Female - spayed
Health: she is up to date with yearly vaccine. Has a small belly button hernia but the vets say this is not a problem. We do have a medical history for her since being in the UK.
Children: Not suitable as no experience with children and did snap at a young girl on a trial visit.
Cat tested: has been fine with our cat that is confident and will tell her off initially and has not been bothered by him since.
Dogs: she has been living with a Cocker spaniel and Golden Retriever for the past year. Poppy is learning how to play and interact but isn't too sure what she is doing. During times of excitement, she likes to growl and be vocal (we call it her guinea pig noises). Unfortunately, our cocker spaniel gets concerned by these noises and gets stressed, not knowing what she wants. Our golden doesn't take much notice.
General: Poppy has grown in confidence in the last year with us. She can be nervous with some new people and others she will go straight to for a fuss. She loves to sit next to someone on the sofa, but not on laps. She walks very well on lead and absolutely loves her long walks both on her own and in small groups. We have not seen any aggression from her whilst she has been with us.
Poppy currently eats wet food, is not fussy, and eats straight away. She has had holidays in kennels and copes very well. She is also crate trained and likes to have her little hiding spot.
Poppy Ideally would fit best as an only dog. However, a very calm dog of a similar size may be an option for her. I would expect that she will need some familiarity sessions before moving to her new home.
We are advertising this dog for the lady who is currently caring for her. Please give the rescue a ring on 07808003152 11-3pm for the carers contact details. We have NOT assessed this dog
